Introduction
If you want to know when the admissions of the University of Gloucestershire are open or whether they are going to close, and you also want to know what bank statement will be required for the January intake and whether there will be any impact on the statement next year, then this blog is for you.
Admissions Timeline:
Towards the end of the blog, we had also mentioned in the last update that the majority of university admissions will conclude in October 2024. For students wanting to take the January intake, time is running out to file applications. It’s crucial that your application is submitted on time. If you’re missing any required documents such as recommendation letters, degrees, or transcripts, you can complete them later, but your application must be filed before the deadline.
Deadline for International Students:
For the University of Gloucestershire, the deadline for international students, especially those from Pakistan, is 18th October. Only two days are left! Students whose bank statements and fees are ready, particularly those applying for International Business, should apply as soon as possible to ensure their application is submitted on time.
Risk Factors in Application:
It’s important to note that other subjects, apart from International Business, are less risky. The reason being, all Master by Research degree programs require a research proposal and academic evaluation. If your academic evaluation is not complete, the university will not generate an offer letter.
Students who have completed their recorded interviews and filled their CAS requirements will likely receive their CAS soon. However, those who have not reached this level are still at risk regarding admission.
Available Subjects:
The University of Gloucestershire offers a wide range of subjects, but there is a notable risk due to the limited diversity of professors compared to other universities in the UK. For example, the University of Hull and the University of Lincoln have a broader range of professors and research groups.
Many students faced issues with their research proposals due to a lack of relevant professors in their fields. If you’re applying for subjects like Chemistry or Physics, it may be challenging due to limited faculty.
In Biological Sciences, there is only one research group, which could restrict your options. Make sure to verify the availability of professors in your chosen program before applying.
Alternative University Options:
Students who have not yet secured admission at the University of Gloucestershire should consider other universities such as the University of Lincoln, University of Hull, University of Central Lancashire, University of Bolton, and Manchester Metropolitan University. These institutions also had successful admissions in the last intake.
Clarifying Research Degree Structures:
The UK offers different research degrees, and many students mistakenly believe that only two-year degrees allow dependents. It’s important to understand that if the degree is labeled as Level Seven or Level Eight research, it qualifies for dependent allowances regardless of the program’s length.
For example, while a two-year program might have tuition fees of around £21,000, one-year programs at other universities typically range from £14,000 to £18,000, which you will need to pay upfront.
Professors and Industry Connection:
Remember that professors in universities are often aligned with specific industries. When applying, research what industry your professors are affiliated with as this can be crucial for your career entry point in the UK.
Final Deadlines and Bank Statement Updates:
The last date for courses at the University of Gloucestershire is 18th October, with subjects including Biological Sciences, International Relations, and Digital Marketing. Many applications have already been submitted, especially for International Business, and after the 18th, options will be limited.
One final update: starting December 25th, new rates will apply for bank statements. The cost of living expenses out of London has increased to £10,224 for the main applicant and £6,120 for each dependent.
Preparing Your Bank Statement:
If you’re applying for a visa after December 25th, your main applicant’s required bank statement will now total approximately £50,000, plus the remaining fees for the year.
Conclusion:
For students whose applications are not ready, it might be best to defer to the next intake. If your IELTS score and bank statement are prepared, apply immediately! Options are dwindling, and if you miss the deadline, your chances of getting admission may diminish significantly.
